Toussin Sr. Apartments Recognized for Exceptional Contributions through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program

According to the Marin IJ, “Residents, who are all 55 or older, were selected from the Marin Housing Authority’s Section 8 list for low-income residents and underwent additional screening including criminal background and credit checks. More than 8,500 households are on the Section 8 list, the authority said.

Toussin rents are based on income, with the average tenant paying about $200 a month, though one resident pays just $15, Stompe said.

Because many Toussin residents were recently homeless, PEP Housing provided beds, sofas, kitchen ware and other household goods for those who didn’t have furnishings. Sausalito architect Robert Hayes incorporated various green elements in the project, including a living roof on one building, Stompe said.”
